The Bwindi Education and Wellbeing Charity is a non-profit organisation supporting children and families in Bwindi, Uganda through education, healthcare and access to essential resources. The charity delivers practical, long-term projects aimed at improving opportunities and wellbeing within the local community.
We designed and developed a bespoke WordPress website to help clearly communicate the charity’s work, impact and ongoing projects. The site brings together key information including projects, news, donations and organisational updates in a way that is easy to navigate and simple for the team to manage internally.
The design focuses heavily on ease of use, clarity and storytelling, using real photography, straightforward layouts and structured content to help visitors better understand the charity’s mission. Key areas of the site guide users towards learning more about the work being carried out, exploring current initiatives and supporting the charity through donations.
A major part of the build was the integration of a secure online donation system using GiveWP and Stripe. This allows supporters to make ongoing, one-off or custom donations through a simple and user-friendly process designed to build trust and remove unnecessary friction.
The website has been built to work reliably across desktop, tablet and mobile devices, with a strong focus on usability, accessibility and performance throughout. General SEO best practices were also implemented across the site, including structured heading hierarchies, optimised meta data, schema markup and clean page structures to help improve visibility across search engines.
Alongside the build, we also provide ongoing web hosting, maintenance and support to help keep the website secure, updated and running smoothly. We also created tailored video tutorials for the charity team, helping them confidently manage content and publish updates without needing technical assistance for day-to-day changes.
